Come and join us on the 15th August for our 2nd Womens Wakeboarding Day. We have sessions for everyone from complete beginner to pro, girls club, womens jam session, quayside BBQ and more.

This is the perfect day to learn to wakeboard if you have never tried it before.

10am to 12pm – Girls Club (ages 8-16, every skill level, tuition included) – €15
12pm – 2pm – Sets (every skill level, tuition included) – €20
2pm -5pm – Jam Session (intermediate and advanced riders) – €30
5pm – 8pm – Sets (every skill level, tuition included) – €20

Mystic Big Air Battle for the Bay 2015 – Friday 22nd May

The Mystic BigAir is coming to town! We will be kicking off Pure Magic’s Battle for the Bay 2015 here at Wakedock.

Join in or watch your friends team up with Nick Davies, Lewis Cornwall and others when they are battling it out for the BigAir title.

Free for spectators!

To ride at the BigAir it’s €15 which gives you the event, a free Mystic gift and a free beer at the Battle for the Bay opening party in the Bram Stoker in Clontarf.

Christmas Wakeboarding 20th December

Join us on the 20th December for a festive wakeboarding celebration.
With less than one month left until Christmas we thought we would get the festive cheer going early. We want to say a big thank you for all your friendship and support this season by inviting you to an end of season get together with all the trimmings. We will have free Christmas wakeboarding, mulled wine & mince pies, a Christmas jumper contest and more.

In order to book your free wakeboard set just call us on 01-6643883. We will be giving them away on a first come first served basis, so if you want to wakeboard on the day let us know ASAP.

Christmas Jumper Contest

Nothing says Christmas like a good old fashioned Christmas jumper. Dust down your festive jumpers and wear them along on the day and you will be in with a chance to win a 5 session saver to kick your 2015 season off with a bang. Best jumper will be voted for by your fellow wakeboarders on the day.

For those of you that may have already hung up your wake boots for the year by December 20th please feel free to come down and join us for some Christmas cheer.

Womens Wakeboarding Day at Wakedock – Saturday 9th August

Calling all women and girls!

We are organising a Womens Wakeboarding Day here at Wakedock that will be all about women and girls shredding the cable, learning new skills and having a good time with other female wakeboarders. We’ve got lots of nice things planned for our female customers throughout the day and will be raffling goodies from the Breathe Boardwear collection.

Join us on Saturday, 9th August for sessions specifically for women and girls, special rates and a free BBQ from 5pm onwards.

What’s on:

10am – 12pm: Girls Club – Learn how to wakeboard and improve your skills in this 2 hour long session together with up to 8 girls (8-16 yrs).

12pm – 2pm: Peak Sets – These sessions are open to men as well, but women only pay €20 for their 15 minute set and get free equipment rental.

2pm – 5pm: Womens Jam Session – This session is for all intermediate and advanced female riders that like our Club Night format. A maximum of 10 female riders take turns on a rolling queue system.

5pm – 8pm: Peak Sets – The sets are open to men as well, but women only pay €20 for their 15 minute set and get free equipment rental.

5pm – 8pm: Free BBQ! Get to know other female wakeboarders, make new friends and have a good time on our ‘quayside beach’.

Grassroots Tour 2014 – Saturday 14th June

We are delighted to be hosting the Dublin stop of the Grassroots Tour for the 2nd time!

Remember last year?

We had so much fun and we’re hoping to see just as many and more riders across all categories from rookie to pro. This is the perfect competition for everyone, whether you have been wakeboarding all your life or just started last week – there is the right category for every skill level.

The entry fee is €40 and includes the practice for all riders in the morning before the comp starts in the early afternoon.

inducstry wake parks The event will be run in association with Industry Wake Parks. Industry run some epic wake events like Wakestock and the Red Bull Harbour Reach and we’re looking forward to having them over again for this year’s competition.

 

 

Update: The Wakedock stop of the Grassroots Tour is going to be a Wakestock Qualifier ! So stoked to be able to offer the Top 3 riders in Open Men and Top 1 Rider in Open Ladies a place to ride at the Rail Europeans at Wakestock.

Here’s some more info on the format and categories:

Format of the tour:

Each Grass Roots event is held over a full day and kicks off at about 9 or 10am. Until mid afternoon it is free riding on the Sesitec cables with a few pro demos mixed in and pro coaching on hand to help improve rider’s skills. All the people who enter are encouraged to ride as much as possible all morning. Once mid afternoon comes all the riders get split into various divisions and the comp starts. In the comp each rider gets 3 passes with unlimited falls to impress the judges. The divisions are aimed at the first timer to the seasoned pro.

There are loads of prizes to hand out and there is an official prize giving after each competition finishes.

Here is a break down of the divisions:

Men’s Rookies

– This division is aimed for riders who have just started out in the sport
– If you learned to ride last week then you could enter the Rookies division this week!
– Any tricks up to and including 360’s are allowed in this division
– If you can spin 540’s along an obstacle or off a kicker then we’ll see you later, you’re in Intermediates!
– If you can back lip or front board the obstacles then you too are off to the Intermediates
– Definitely no air tricks, that’s cheating at this level!

Men’s Intermediate

– Love wakeboarding, ride loads, but your not a pro? Then this division is for you.
– Tricks that are welcome in this division include: – Air tricks up to and including backrolls, raleys and roll to reverts
– Frontside 540’s and basic inverts like Tantrums, Scarecrows, Roll to Reverts off the kicker
– Obstacle tricks like ollie 270 onto a rail, ollie on backside lipslide, tail presses, nose presses etc

Men’s Open

– If you’re sponsored then you’re in this division
– If you want to be sponsored then you need to be in this division!
– If you’ve won intermediate events before then you too are in Open Mens, so step up your game!

Ladies Rookies

– This is for the ladies who have just started out in the sport
– Any tricks allowed up to but not including 360’s
– If you can spin 360’s along rails or on kickers then we’ll see you later, you moving up to open

Ladies Open

– This is for the ladies who love to ride
– If you can backside lipslide or front board the rails then you need to be here
– If you can spin 360’s on the obstacles or kickers then you are no longer a rookie either
– If you can do air tricks then, hell you could be winning this one!

Juniors

– 16 or under then this one is for you
– This includes boys and girls
– We normally give out a prize for the youngest rider – If we get loads of juniors we sometimes have a boys and girls division
– If we get loads of under 12’s enter then we will make you a division too

Wakeskate

– No bindings? Get yourself in this division
– If we get enough entries on the day then we split this into rookies and open

Registration

Registration fee for all categories is €40, it is not necessary to be a member of the Irish Waterski and Wakeboard Federation to participate in this competition.

Just in time for summer, we are introducing our Youth Deal, a new pricing structure for under 18s.

Come and ride the cable during off-peak hours (view the schedule) and pay only €15 for your set.

Kit rental, if required, is extra with €2 for a wetsuit and €3 for a wakeboard.

We had such a good day running our first competition last Saturday. In total there were 33 contestants battling it out in 6 divisions for the Grassroots Tour.  Big thanks to the judges Ash Colvin and Toby Oliver who flew in from the UK just for the day and also David O’Caoimh and Brian Deegan for mc-ing the event.
